"E Kathimerini" SA Kathimerini is one of the oldest and most reputable newspapers in Greece. Founded in 1919, it is an up-market, national daily, political and financial newspaper. Approximately 60% of Kathimerini's readers belong to the upper social economic segment of the population. Kathimerini enjoys higher penetration in the business community than any other newspaper in Greece. According to the 1998 results of the "European Business Readership Survey," conducted and guaranteed by Research Services Ltd. and the Financial Times, 55% of senior executives in Greece read "Kathimerini" on a daily basis. Kathimerini SA also publishes and distributes in Greece and Cyprus the International Herald Tribune (IHT), which carries inside the Kathimerini English Edition. The IHT covers independent, international news, informed analysis and respected opinion. Edited in Paris since 1887, the world's daily newspaper id distributed in more than 180 countries world-wide. The company is also very active in the publishing business. In co-operation with other European publishing houses like HarperCollins, DK. white Star and others. It publishes titles such as "Atlas of the World," "Geographical Atlas," "Atlas of the 20th century," "Treasures of the World," "Eye Witness Tour Guides," the Economist's yearly magazine/review "The World in..." Kathimerini SA is also involved in electronic media with Melodia FM 99.2, a radio station which introduced this type of music to the Greek audience which up to then was oriented to foreign music.
